The Barrel
Take one half-whisky barrel with a plastic liner, fill it with water,
add a small pump, a few aquatic plants and a couple of small goldfish,
and you have a pond.
We've had this one in a corner of our deck for several years now.
A small pump provides the constant sound of running water,
which is very refreshing on a hot day.
The occasional raccoon attacks are somewhat annoying, though. We've lost quite a
few fish to the buggers. We've rigged up a shelter out of an old terra cotta
drainpipe weighed down with a brick. It may work
