Note in the upper figure that the C2 carbon atom lies above this plane 0.6 Angstroms, while the C3 carbon atom lies beneath this plane 0.1 Angstroms. The notation that summarizes this is: [C2-endo, C3-exo]. The pseudo-rotation parameter that defines this conformation is 162 degrees.

Likewise in the lower figure notice that the C3 carbon atom lies above the plane 0.6 Angstroms, while the C2 carbon atom lies beneath this plane 0.1 Angstroms. The notation that summarizes this is: [C3-endo, C2-exo]. The pseudo-rotation parameter that defines this conformation is 18 degrees.
