Moosehead Lake

Number Four Mountain:

The trailhead is located in Frenchtown TWP (See DeLorme's 'The Maine Atlas and Gazetteer' Map 41) From Greenville, Maine, take the East side of Moosehead Lake up past Beaver Cove and Lily Bay State Park (about 9 miles). Go another 4 1/2 (+-) miles past Lily Bay State Park and you will see a dirt road (no sign) on your right...Take this dirt road, go 3-4 miles and watch for Trailhead Sign... Trail itself is relatively steep with excellent views...About an hour, hour and a half hike depending on your condition...Picture below taken from the top in 1991.
