Under Town Law, the Town Supervisor has the authority to create standing
committees. These committees act in an advisory capacity to the Town Board
or in response to a Town Board directive. The supervisor can appoint Town
Board members to these committees. Other people can contribute to these
committees in an "ad hoc" manner.
The committees thus established by the supervisor are:
This committee serves as the advisor to the Town Board in matters of
budgeting, investment, insurance, employee benefits and financial planning.
This committee serves as a local disaster preparedness and planning
body. It provides coordination with County, State and Federal emergency
planning agencies as well as with the American Red Cross.
This committee supports activities required to support the Harrisburg
municipal buildings and the property they sit on.
This committee is responsible for exploring and creating opportunity for
economic development within Harrisburg and the surrounding region.
This committee is charged with providing improved communication with
residents and landowners.
