2006 Blocks of the Month

Blocks this year vary in size. Sizes given are for the finished block as sewn into a quilt. The single block alone should measure an additional 1/2", which includes a standard 1/4" seam allowance on each side. For example, an 8" block should measure 8-1/2". Be sure you do not trim off the seam allowances when squaring up your blocks. It is better to have your blocks just a little too big, than to trim off any points!

	January 4 (Wednesday) - 12" Antique Tile - blues with white (or white-on-white) background Quilter's Cache Antique Tile (supplies list on page 2)
	February 8 (Wednesday) - 8 " Simple Rings - light and dark pinks. Quilter's Cache Simple Rings (supplies list on page 3)
	March 7 - 12" Amish Diamond - bright solids or marbles (black background - color 3). NOTE: Pre-wash the fabric to prevent the dye from running. The black color tends to run, as do some bright colors. Quilter's Cache Amish Diamond (supplies list on page 2)
	April 4 - 10" The Queen's X - two shades of purple; white background. Quilter's Cache The Queens' X (supplies list on page 2)
	May 2 - 12" Floral Free-for-All - This is a block in floral fabrics or a floral design - you choose the pattern! Use appliqued, pieced, or paper-pieced patterns. For ideas, you might check some of the Links on our Home Page.
	June 6 - 10" Basket of Chips - tan or brown basket, off-white or ecru background, and any color (scrappy) chips. Quilter's Cache Basket of Chips (supplies list on page 2)
	July 11 - 12" My Favorite Quilt - red and white. Quilter's Cache My Favorite Quilt (supplies list on page 2)
	August 1 - 12" Pennsylvania - yellow and blue, white background. Quilter's Cache Pennsylvania (supplies list on page 2)
	September 5 - 12" Log Cabin - red center with logs in browns or greens. Quilter's Cache Log Cabin

	December 5 - 12" Black and White Free-for-All - black and white, any design, any technique (pieced or appliqued).
