2004 Brown Bag Doll Project

Throughout 2004 we created 10" - 15" cotton dolls. For the first session, participants created plain muslin dolls. They were taken to the March business meeting, shuffled, bags numbered, then redistributed by the project chairman, Cindy Fairfield. Each dollmaker receives someone else's doll at each step. The next step was to create their faces, using any method. Then we added hair. The next step is the underwear. This project relies on our imaginations. At the end, the original doll makers receive their dolls back - all dressed and finished by the other participants.
Dolls went home to their owners Oct. 18! Thank you, Cindy, for a great project!

2004 Blocks of the Month

All blocks this year are 12" blocks. They should measure 12-1/2", which includes a standard 1/4" seam allowance on each side, so they will be 12" when sewn into a quilt. Be sure you do not trim off the seam allowances when squaring up your blocks. It is better to have your blocks just a little too big, than to trim off any points! Click on any block below to see a larger image.
