The Wisconsin Historical Society, founded in 1846, offers residents a glimpse of life as it was and makes the past relevant to life as it is today. By collecting, caring for, and sharing the rich historical record and artifacts of Wisconsin and its people, the Society provides the state's residents with direct access to resources that can help in tracing family roots, in understanding social and political trends and movements, and in acquiring a sense of the daily lives of people in Wisconsin and the Midwest through the centuries.

Membership is $35 for an individual and $45 for families. Senior citizen membership available at $25 individual and $35 for families.
