3/27/98 My great grandmother was named Mary Helen Brown b. 24 May 1857 in TN probably Knox Co., m James Samuel Downs 24 Dec 1879 Sparta, White Co., TN d. 1902 in Bridgeport, Jackson Co., Ala. 1/13/98 In doing your Sherman Genealogy have you ever come across any info on a John Sherman b. 1925 N.Y.? I can't find any info on his parents. This John Sherman moved to Texas about 1850 and served in the Confederate forces. He married Eliza Jane Williams about 1866 and all his children were born in Texas. He also had a mill in in Texas. He lived in Atascosa County and in Kerr County, Texas. Contact Sally Belden
