N. Dandino

over
into Heaven on
Thursday, January 13, 2011. Don is
survived by his wife, Lois; children, David (Brenda) Dandino,
Diana (Jack) Wallace, Laurie (Bill) Klino,
Dawn
(Jeff) Smith and Stephen Humbert; 11
grandchildren; 5
great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Gladys) Dandino;
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothea Dandino;
sister, Frances Dangler; and nieces, Wendy and Nancy.
Don was born July 8, 1931 in Clyde, a son of Dominic and Arvilla
Dandino. He
was a veteran of the Army during the Korean Conflict. Following
his tour of duty in Korea, he was a
small arms instructor at West Point Academy. He
was a paid fireman for the Village of
Newark and after that he was facilities director at Clifton Springs
Hospital. Then Don retired as facilities
director at
Keuka College. In his retirement, he was
the clerk of the works at the Wayne County Nursing Home and North
Rose-Wolcott
Central Schools. He was instrumental in
establishing the first bow hunter education classes through the
Department of
Environmental Conservation and was considered a master instructor. He was also Past President of the New York Field
Archers & Bow Hunters and a National Director to the National Field
Archery
Association. He was an avid outdoorsman
and a master carpenter.
Family and friends may call on Sunday (Jan. 16) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
pm at
Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St.,
Lyons. A Funeral Service will be held on
Monday (Jan.
17) 11 am at Savannah Family of God Church, Route 31, Savannah.
Burial will be in Farmington Friends
Cemetery, Farmington. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Golden Memories Unit at the Canandaigua VA
or to
NY Field Archers & Bow Hunters Scholarship Fund c/o Kym Ferrell, 6
Copeland
Ave., Geneva, NY 14456.
